Before joining the United Cement Group, Andreas Kern for 30 years worked as a General Director of the Heidelbergcement in Kazakhstan. Fields of expertise of Andreas Kern are cement production facilities operation, cost optimization, mergers and acquisitions, investments into new and existing projects.

Andreas Kern studied business administration in Manheim University. Joined HeidelbergCement AG in 1983. In 1994 he became a Head of Sales Office in Southern Bavaria. In 1998 he was appointed as a Managing Director of Rohrdorfer, construction materials producing company.
